Perfecting Design Through CFD
We "have the good stuff!"

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is an extremely valuable tool in HVAC design that, until recently, has been underutilized in this industry. Dyna-Tech was quick to recognize the software's vast capabilities, and has been at the forefront of implementing this technologically-advanced design tool. Using CFD software, we were able to apply the tools of three-dimensional CAD modeling and computational fluid dynamics analysis to simulate performance and perfect the design of our High Plume Exhaust Nozzle.
Nozzle model HPE-040 was manufactured and physically tested to develop a baseline performance. Constructing additional nozzles to test various design modifications would have required significant time, labor, and funding. Instead, Dyna-Tech constructed a 3D CAD model based on the dimension of the physical nozzle, and performed a CFD analysis to verify the results of the baseline physical testing. After the physical test results were confirmed, CAD software was used to modify the baseline nozzle's geometry and optimize the design based on the CFD modeling results.
CFD software analysis enabled Dyna-Tech to compare various designs of the nozzle, as well as how ambient conditions, such as wind and building arrangements, impacted the performance of the exhaust plume. This method of testing allowed numerous design ideas to be tested, evaluated, and perfected in the amount of time it would take to manufacture a single test nozzle. The use of CFD technology gives Dyna-Tech the unique ability to customize designs to meet customers' particular project requirements. Additionally, this technology can be applied to existing exhaust systems, which eliminates the need for fan replacement.
